Dear customer,
A small percentage of our keyholders have reported that eKEY is incompatible with version 7.1 of BlackBerry’s operating system.  We are working to correct this issue and will release an eKEY upgrade as soon as we are able. Until that time, we recommend that eKEY customers do not upgrade their BlackBerry to version 7.1.

In addition, we recommend that eKEY customers should delay obtaining a new Blackberry device if it runs version 7.1. Blackberry devices that may run version 7.1 include:

BlackBerry Bold 9790/9900/9930
BlackBerry Curve 9350/9360/9370/9380, and
BlackBerry Torch 9810/9850/9860.

We will update you as we learn more.

Dear Supra Customers,

We are pleased to announce that the new eKEY Fob is now available.  You will be delighted with the next gen product design.  Compared with the Original fob, the new fob is 60% lighter and half the size!  Battery life is also improved.

The eKEY Fob is part of our eKEY solution, which turns your smartphone into a lockbox key.  The fob receives a Bluetooth message from the smart phone and converts it into an infrared signal that can be received by the lockbox.  Please click the following link for a list of compatible smart phones.

•    Uses two user replaceable coin cell batteries  (batteries are included)

Warranty:

The New eKEY Fob carriers a one year warranty from the date of purchase.  Please note that fobs returned will be replaced with the same version of fob.  This means that if warranty replacement is necessary, a new fob will be replaced with a new fob.  Original fobs returned for warranty will be replaced with an Original fob (We have retained sufficient inventories of the Original fob to ensure that we can replace them with the same version originally purchased).

We would like to follow up on our note yesterday regarding the new iPhone Operating System and new version of eKEY. We are happy to let you know that Apple has approved our updated application and it is available on the App Store.  All of your members who use eKEY for iPhone will receive a notification on their phone, telling them that the new version is available.  It is important that all eKEY for iPhone users upgrade to the latest eKEY version (1.2.2).

 

In our communication yesterday we asked your members to hold off on upgrading their iPhone Operating System until the new eKEY application was available. Now that the new eKEY application is available, your members should experience no issues with updating their iPhone Operating System software (iOS5), which is being released today by Apple.

Dear Supra Customers,

 

In anticipation of the new iPhone operating system (iOS5) to be launched on Wednesday October 12th, we have updated our eKEY software to be compatible with iOS5.  The update has been sent to Apple for their approval. As soon as it is approved it will become available on the Apple App Store.  It will also show up as a red asterisk on the App Store icon, directly on the iPhone.  Approval is expected within the next few days.

 

PLEASE NOTE:  All iPhone eKEY users are encouraged to refrain from updating the iPhone’s operating system to iOS5 until after the new version of eKEY (version 2.2.1) has been installed.  This will ensure that eKEY continues to run correctly.  If the new operating system is installed prior to getting the updated eKEY software, the user could encounter usability issues with their eKEY.

Dear eKEY for Android Customer ,

There is an important update available for eKEY Basic
for Android. You can download this important software
update from the Google Android Market. This new
version (1.0.1) addresses a range of syncing issues
that are specific to eKEY Basic for Android devices. In
particular, users should no longer encounter 9BFF and
9B03 errors when eKEY attempts to update.

You can get the eKEY update in one of two ways:

1.) From your phone you will see an “update” icon that is
shown when any installed application has a pending
update. Simply drag down the alert and select the
option to install updates. From there, eKEY will show
up as an application that has an update available for
download.

2.) Visit the Market from your Android phone. Select
Menu > My Apps to see a list of applications installed
on the device. The eKEY application will show that an
update is available. Tap the eKEY update to begin the
download and installation.

Both methods preserve all user settings and does not
require a new authorization code. Should you need any
assistance updating your eKEY software, please
contact customer support at 1-877-699-6787 (5 AM to 7
PM PT seven days a week) or email
suprasupport@fs.utc.com.
