In preparation of the coming CARETS data, we will be expanding our search options within fields such as Area, City, School District, and various feature fields such as Appliances and Utilities.  These additions will allow you to more effectively search the up-coming robust CARETS dataset which will include listings from the participating MLS organizations (CRISNet, Claw, i-Tech and SoCAL MLS).

Within the coming weeks you will have the ability to access all CARETS Residential and Residential lease listings through Matrix without having to go elsewhere or learn new software.  You will simply have more listings, more data, and more searchable choices in one convenient system.

Following the initial deployment of CARETS these search options will also be made available in Add/Edit so you may also express greater searchable detail in your listings.

Frequent Questions and Answers:

Q. Will I have to reciprocate my listings to other participating CARETS MLS organizations?
A. No, each participating MLS organizations will have the ability to pull and receive each other’s full listing data.

Q. Will I need to be trained on how to use CARETS?
A. No, CARETS listings will be seamlessly displayed in Matrix using the same displays and reports.  You will use the same searching and listing input techniques that you currently use. The only differences you will see are expanded listing data, expanded search options, and new rules and regulations.
Q. Does CARETS have all the MLS data in Southern California?
A. CARETS is not a statewide MLS.  At this time CARETS is comprised of five participating MLS organizations and 27 Associations and Boards of Realtors.  However, CARETS is proactively working with other MLSs to increase the coverage area to give each of our participants and subscribers as much data as possible.

During the last three weeks of September MRMLS will begin a phased distribution of the SAFEMLS™ token product.  Distribution events and location details have been posted to Matrix News.  At the event you will receive a brief presentation, the SAFEMLS® token, and instructions on how to register and use your SAFEMLS® device.

Throughout the past few weeks we have collected questions from our membership regarding SAFEMLS® tokens.  Here are the top questions we have received.

Top Questions and Answers:

Q. Who is required to use SAFEMLS™ tokens?
A. All users including office and personal assistants are required to have their own SAFEMLS® token.  If your office or personal assistant does not have their own MLS login credentials; you will need to contact your Association or Board of Realtors.  Please contact them prior to November 1st to avoid additional charges.

Q. If I am an existing member of Sandicor or SoCal MLS and have an existing token, do I need to attend a distribution Event?
A. No, you do not need to attend a distribution event.  You can register your existing Sandicor or So Cal MLS token on the Matrix login page starting September 15, 2008. If you have issues with your Sandicor or SoCal SAFEMLS® token, please contact them directly.  If you have Rapattoni token or a token from iTech; you will be required to attend your distribution event.

Q. What if I cannot make it to my distribution event?
A. We understand that there may be some difficulties in getting to the event in your time slot.
Therefore, we will be having make-up events in October.  The schedule will be posted in the early October timeframe.

Q. How does the SAFEMLS® tokens work?
A. You will need your SAFEMLS® token each time you log into the Matrix system or Matrix Mobile. At the Matrix login page you will be required to input your User ID, a 4-digit pin, and the SAFEMLS password.  Your 4-digit pin is what you have assigned at the time of registering your token.   The SAFEMLS password is the unique number that is generated by pressing the grey button located on your SAFEMLS™ token device.

Q. Can I have the SAFEMLS Password generated on my Active Key or Mobile Phone?
A. Yes, you can have either device setup for a nominal fee. Please contact your Association or Board of Realtors for their setup fee.  Please note you can have multiple device activated to generate your SAFEMLS password.

We’ve had a few questions from people wondering how big this token is that will be required to use the MLS. Well, here you go.

As you can see, it will easily fit on to your key chain. Its light and small.

I hope this answers the question.  Have a great weekend!

2 – What if I have an assistant?
If you have an assistant that uses the MLS, they will need to join the board and get their own MLS Username, Password, and Token.

3 – What if I can’t make my SafeMLS Token distribution designated time slot?
If you can’t make your Distribution time slot, there will be a makeup date sometime in October. The
Association Office will not have the tokens to distribute.

4 – I already have a MLS Token from San Diego/SoCal, do I still need to come in and get
another one?

If you already have a token from San Diego or Orange County, then you will NOT need to get another
token. You will be able to register the token you currently have to use it with MRMLS Matrix.

5 – How do we register our tokens if we already have one?
Once you see the field for the SafeMLS Password, you will see a series of links to the right. Just click where it says “I want to enroll my Authenticator.”

6 – Will there be a makeup date?
Yes, there will be a makeup date sometime in October.

7 – How do we get tech support if we have issues?
The MRMLS Tech Support Team is trained to help you with any issues you may have with the new token.

8 – Can I have the Token, Text Pass, and/or the ActiveKey to use to access the MLS?
You may have only one of the following: The Token itself, TextPass, which will text you your code,
or have your Supra Key programmed to give you your code. You may NOT have two options.

9 – How long will it take me to get the token?
When you arrive to get your token to the time you leave should not be longer then 1 hour. Please plan
for your designated time slot to keep the waiting times down.

10 – How does this effect my reciprocal access?
Your access to reciprocal areas will not be affected by the SafeMLS Token.

11 – What do I need?
You will need to bring a valid ID, and a check incase you want to use the ActiveKey or TextPass system.

12 – What happens if I loose, or break my token or if its stolen?
There is a $25 replacement cost on tokens.

13 – When is my scheduled time for the token distribution?
You are required to have the SafeMLS token each time you log into Matrix. Please pick up your
tokens during your distribution times.
